Where are Active Lines on my face and how are they best treated?
Active lines are caused by underlying muscle activity and, after a time, because of the continued action of the muscles folding, the skin produces lines which become indented.
These lines are called “active lines” and occur principally in the area between the eyebrows, forehead and crowsfeet region. They can also occur in cheek areas, caused by smiling and facial movement.
As the lines are caused by muscle activity, the optimum treatment for them is to freeze the muscles. Therefore muscle reducing injections produce great results.
These treatments weaken the activity of over-active muscles. As the muscles cease folding, the active lines will gradually disappear.
Overall muscle relaxing injections such as Botox or Dysport ( another form of Botulinum toxin) are the best options for treating active lines.
