Skin lesions are extremely common
and are usually easily removed. In your consultation your surgeon
will asses the lesion and recommend one of the following:
• No treatment for some non-cancerous lesions in which removal would
leave significant scarring
• Removal by curettage for small non-cancerous lesions such as moles
• Removal by excision for deeper or larger lesions particularly if
there is a risk that they might develop into skin cancers.
If you are concerned about any skin lesion it is best to get it checked
by a specialist. Most are completely non cancerous and can be removed
with minimal scarring and downtime. |
