What is Medical Microdermabrasion?

Medical Microdermabrasion is a mild resurfacing treatment that is ideal for all skin types. It removes the outermost layer of the skin whilst stimulating the underlying epidermis that promotes collagen and elastin. • Oily skin
  • Blackheads
  • Whiteheads
  • Mild acne scarring

What does Medical Microdermabrasion involve?

Aurora Skin Clinics: Photo showing Microdermabrasion treatmentThe procedure is performed using a hand piece that is passed over the skin with a flow of medical grade crystals that remove the top layer of dry dead skin cells. This deep exfoliation will reveal new skin cells that are soft and smooth and respond better to product and nutrients. At the same time the vacuum is removing oil and congestion which also stimulates the epidermal layers promoting collagen and elastin.

How long does the treatment take?

After a skin consultation the treatment takes between 30 – 45 minutes.

How long will the effects last?

Most people will see and feel immediate results in texture and appearance; we recommend a course of 3 to 6 treatments every 4 weeks for maximum results.

The effects will also last longer and be enhanced if you follow a product regime of skincare products between treatments that will be advised by your practitioner in your skin consultation tailored to your needs.
