Permalip Implants, Who Is Suitable For Treatment, Transcript

Hello my name is Adrian Richards and I’m the Surgical Director of Aurora Skin Clinics and today Id like to talk to you a little bit about Permalip, who is suitable for treatment?

So Permalip as I’ve discussed in another video is a silicone lip implant gently tapered at either end that’s inserted into normally both the upper and lower lips, but can be inserted into just the upper lip if that’s where the volume is decreased and the lower lip has a good amount of volume.

So who is suitable for treatment? Well basically anyone who would like a slight more of a fullness in the lips and it’s very important that what we’re not doing is creating the ‘trout pout’ that you’ve seen probably on TV. Permalip is a very sort of subtle natural appearance following treatment.

As I mentioned before, it comes in three thicknesses and we really need to discuss what sort of appearance you would like following the procedure to ascertain which is best for you. So who is suitable for treatment? Well anyone who would like slightly fuller lips, anyone who is either born with slightly low volume lips, even young people can have slightly low volume in the upper lip, but it’s also a thing that with aging you do tend to lose facial fullness and the lips are an area where you can lose volume from. So anyone who would like slightly more volume is suitable and as I said we can tailor the implant for the look you want.

The question I’m often asked is ‘can you perform permanent implant after lip filler treatment?’ and the answer is yes, we normally need to leave at least two months following a lip dermal filler treatment for everything to settle before doing the lip implant. So it’s suitable, the patients we’ve performed it on like it very much, it’s reversible because the implant can be removed if necessary, and suitable for most people. The only people who I would say probably who aren’t suitable who are people who have perhaps excessive bruising and bleeding tendencies and perhaps someone who is on Warfarin or any other blood thinking agents wouldn’t be suitable for this treatment.

So I hope that’s been helpful. If you’d like any more information about Permalip or any of the other products and services we offer please don’t hesitate to contact us either via our website which is aurora-clinics.co.uk or by ringing us on 01844 214 362, thank you very much.
