Lip enhancement – what are my options?
Having straight white teeth is one component of a great smile, but the shape of the lips is also important.
Lips that are plump, in proportion and symmetrical can really enhance the beauty of your face. And the great news, if you haven’t been blessed with them naturally, is that there is more than one way to achieve them.
The least-invasive option is to go down the non-surgical route.
Dermal fillers can be injected into the lips to plump them up and correct any asymmetry.
The procedure is relatively inexpensive, though results are temporary. How long the effect will last depends on the individual, but it usually needs ‘topping up’ every 6-12 months to maintain the results.
The other option is permanent enhancement through surgical means.
Permalip implants are made from tapered soft silicone that mimics the natural shape and texture of the lip. The implants are inserted into one or both lips via small incisions, giving them added fullness while maintaining a realistic shape.
Results are immediate and healing is quick – you can expect to resume normal activities one week after surgery. The procedure gives you a permanent result, but if for any reason you aren’t happy with the result, it is completely reversible – the implants are simply removed.
