How best to eliminate wrinkles – Botox or Fillers?
If you have facial wrinkles and are considering non-invasive treatments for the first time it can be natural to be unsure as to what procedure will produce the best results for your skin. Whether to opt for Botox or dermal fillers will largely depend on the type of wrinkles that you are looking to treat and the effect you are hoping to achieve.
Botox is best for dynamic wrinkles which means that they are caused by muscle movement, for example around the eyes and across the forehead; these may be wrinkles that become more pronounced when you make certain expressions, for example laughing or frowning. Botox will help by freezing those muscles in to place so that the wrinkles do not occur. These are usually the first type of wrinkles that you will suffer from and as a result Botox is often recommended as a first step against wrinkles.
Dermal fillers, on the other hand, are best used for deep-rooted wrinkles that are apparent on the face all the time. Rather than working on the muscles they actually work by filling out the wrinkle and plumping out the appearance. Because the skin naturally thins over time this also helps to create a more youthful look.
Before embarking on any treatment it’s always recommended that you discuss your possible needs with your doctor first, who will advise what course of action is best suited to your individual skin.
