One Direction’s Harry Styles having “bird poo facials” to clear his spots?
One Direction heartthrob Harry Styles is reported to be using a rather unorthodox skin treatment to help combat spots.
The 20-year-old singer is said to be worried about the havoc that heavy stage make-up and hot spotlights will play with his skin while on the group’s imminent world tour.
In preparation, Styles has allegedly embarked upon an intensive course of ‘Geisha Facials’, a Japanese deep cleansing treatment that involves rubbing nightingale droppings into the skin. But the treatment’s not pure poo – the bird excrement is blended with rice bran and water before being applied.
The treatment is said to be a boon for troublesome skin, and can be used to treat acne, improve skin tone, and even to combat wrinkles. In keeping with the nature theme, the formula is said to smell like hay.
Harry’s tattooist Freddy Negrete recommended the treatment to him, telling him he’d be in good company if he took the plunge – Hollywood royalty Angelina Jolie, Brad Pitt and Tom Cruise are said to be fans of the treatment, along with the Beckhams.
The nightingale droppings are thought to have an exfoliating effect on the skin, grinding away dirt and leaving the skin shiny and clean.
It’s not the cheep-est facial out there (sorry, we couldn’t resist), coming in at a healthy £100 per session. But that’s just bird feed to Harry, whose hefty bank balance will be even bulgier once 1D’s tour bus rolls back to Blighty.
Fans can check out the results of Harry’s bird poo facials in stadiums around the world between now and October.
