Can Botox help my headaches?
The answer to this in most cases is yes!
Out of a hundred people with headaches, treatment to the forehead and frown areas with Botox reduced the severity of headaches in 60 of them. In 40 of the hundred patients Botox completely remove the headaches for a period of approximately 3 months.
The reason for this is Botox weakens the muscle in your forehead and this is often the trigger point for headaches.
Often you will feel that if you are frowning a lot the tension in the muscles between your eyebrows can set up a reaction causing a headache.
Many of my patients have had Botox treatment specifically for their headaches and if you do suffer for severe headaches it might be worthwhile giving Botox a chance to improve this.
